A short term team of nine Australian's are heading to Russia to spend two weeks working with children in summer camps. They are taking crafts, games, other exciting actives. Most of all they are taking love, the love of Christ in their hearts that they want to share with with all people.

They have left Russia and are returning to Australia via various paths

The mission started in the Zelenogorsk areas in the ealy 1990’s, at the invitation of the mayor of a town named Roshina.  The first mission teams were Finnish.  Australians and other nationalities have been involved since 1995.  Kids Outreach International Russian office is located in Zelenogorsk.  Zelenogorsk means ‘Green Town’.

Thecamp is somewhere on the coast (the Gulf of Finland) near Zelenogorsk.  It’s about one hour’s drive north of St Petersburg.  There were 163 kids in camp in 2006.  There is also a camp for convalescing children nearby (Zvozdochka), which we also hope to visit.  We will arrive in camp on 13th June and depart on 28th June.

Vyborg is the first major town across the border from Finland.  We will leave the train here and be driven to camp.  It has been disputed territory for hundreds of years, mainly between Sweden & Russia.  It was part of Finland until WWII.  Many Finns do day trips here to visit the markets, famous for crystal and linen.

We are staying two nights in Helsinki and buying other supplies for camp.  We will leave Helsinki by train very early on 13th June to get to Russia.
